Master of Science in Food Science


1.0 Admission requirements
The general regulations and guidelines for higher degrees of Sokoine University of Agriculture apply except where indicated otherwise.
In addition to the minimum entry qualifications to Master’s degree at SUA, the following additional requirements for the MSc (Food Science) apply:
(i) Possession of an upper second degree in Food Science, Food Science & Technology. Food Technology and Nutrition, Chemical and Process in Engineering and closely related fields.
(ii) Admission may also be granted to holders of advanced diploma with distinction credits in the fields under (i) above provided the applicant has a minimum of two years working experience after graduation from the diploma course.

1.2 Dissertation
A candidate is expected to conduct research and submit a dissertation not later than 12 months after successful completion of coursework.


2.0 Examination Regulations
Coursework and the dissertation will be examined by internal and external examiners as required by the Sokoine University of Agriculture Regulations and Guidelines for graduate students.
